{"id":326,"date":"2011-08-27T21:35:55","date_gmt":"2011-08-27T21:35:55","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.micamoca.com\/wordpress\/?p=326"},"modified":"2013-03-04T21:36:22","modified_gmt":"2013-03-04T21:36:22","slug":"urban-wasteland-dreamland-for-unaccompanied-drums","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.micamoca.com\/wordpress\/?p=326","title":{"rendered":"Urban Wasteland | dreamland | For Unaccompanied Drums"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Urban Wasteland<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Urban Wasteland is a live multimedia performance, a blend of graphic art and music in which the audience dives in a space where walls are drawn on and music is played.<br \/>\nEverything is made live, improvised, giving the audience the opportunity to experience the creative process and the interaction between the artists.<br \/>\nUrban Wasteland is a collaborative work, the result of joint research and experimentation made by the graphic artist Iratxe Fern\u00e1ndez de las Heras and the composer Ricardo Gosalbo.<\/p>\n<p>Iratxe Fern\u00e1ndez de las Heras<br \/>\nIratxe comes from Spain. She graduated in Fine Arts at the University of Barcelona, specialising in drawing and, later, learning the art of traditional animation. Nowadays she devotes herself mainly to mural painting and illustration projects.<br \/>\n<a href=\"http:\/\/iratxefernandez.blogspot.com\">iratxefernandez.blogspot.com<\/a><br \/>\n<a href=\"http:\/\/cuestionhumanablog.blogspot.com\">cuestionhumanablog.blogspot.com<\/a><br \/>\n<a href=\"http:\/\/pinturasdepared.blogspot.com\">pinturasdepared.blogspot.com<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Ricardo Gosalbo<br \/>\nRicardo Gosalbo (BMus, Trinity College of Music, London) works freelance as musical director, r\u00e9p\u00e9titeur, accompanist, chamber musician and composer. This insight is an outcome of an intensive period of research with Mala Kline and Natasa Zivkovic in Ljubljana.<\/p>\n<p><strong>For Unaccompanied Drums<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>For Unaccompanied Drums is the solo project of the drummer Rui Faustino.<br \/>\nIn a convencional musical situation the drums are part of a rhythm section, and are expected to groove, to generate rhythm. In a soloing situation, ascending energy and virtuosity are frequent goals to aim for.
